Writing novels is a solitary experience. Getting other authors to talk about them can be a party, as six regional writers will set out to prove Saturday.
Planning to gather at 11:30 a.m. at Joseph-Beth Booksellers, 510 S. 27th St., South Side, are:
Kathleen George, Nancy Martin, Rebecca Drake, Lila Shaara, Heather Terrell and Kathryn Miller Haines.
Ms. George, a North Sider and author of such Pittsburgh-based novels as "The Odds," "Afterimage," "Fallen" and "Taken," said the group calls itself "The Six" and will present the program "Crime-Writing Sisters Share Their Secrets."
The Six will also visit Barnes & Noble Booksellers at South Hills Village Sept. 18 at 11:30 a.m. Both programs are free.
Here are the latest releases from the other writers:
Ms. Martin, "Our Lady of Immaculate Deception"; Ms. Drake, "The Dead Place"; Ms. Shaara, "The Fortune Teller's Daughter"; Ms. Haines, "When Winter Returns"; and Ms. Terrell, "Brigid of Kildare."
Sara Paretsky, creator of the V.I. Warshawski private-eye series, will discuss her new book, "Body Work," Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Oakmont Carnegie Library.
Mystery Lovers Bookshop is the sponsor. Tickets are $5. Call 412-828-4877.
