Landslides close McArdle Roadway, lane of Greentree Road
Thursday, March 11, 2010

The city has closed McArdle Roadway and part of Greentree Road because of landslides.

McArdle is closed from the Liberty Bridge to Mount Washington.

City officials said earth-moving equipment was on the scene and they hoped to reopen the road by 7 p.m.

The closing of McArdle forced PennDOT to close the right outbound lane of the Liberty Bridge, which normally sends traffic directly to McArdle during rush hour.

A landslide earlier today closed Greentree Road between Woodville Avenue and Ridgemont Drive in Pittsburgh. The city was expected to reopen one lane by 4 p.m. with a flagger directing alternating one-way traffic.
