Superintendent praised as educator

I agree 100 percent with "Superintendent's Treatment Decried" (Letters, Feb. 25, South) about Terry Kinavey.

I remember when Mrs. Kinavey was a teacher in Steel Valley -- she loved teaching and bringing out the best in her students. When she became the principal at Steel Valley's Homestead Park Elementary School, she always cared about the children. She even had a plaque attached to the outside of the building that said "Our kids are #1." That plaque is still on the building. In both positions -- a teacher and a principal -- she gave 100 percent of herself to her job and to the students.

I cannot believe that as superintendent of the West Jefferson Hills School District she did not give 100 percent of herself to make the school district the best it could be and to bring out the best in everyone.

In my opinion, Mrs. Kinavey does not deserve what the school district is doing to her. She is a professional and a person who really cares about what is best for everyone -- especially the children -- in West Jefferson Hills School District.

Thank you, Collier

With Collier's ever expanding population, we are very fortunate to have a maintenance department that excels. It is a department for all seasons: Hot summers and cold winters are not easy to deal with.

Do you think it deserves a "thank you?" I do.
