Because Pittsburgh Vann K-5 may close this summer, the city school district is planning a community forum on the recommendations for new school assignments.
Pittsburgh Public Schools spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said the school board is expected to vote March 24 on whether to close the school. Public-hearing requirements on the potential school closure already have been met, she said. Vann had been scheduled to close in 2008.
The meeting is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 10 in the cafeteria of Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12, 3117 Centre Ave. in the Hill District.
If Vann closes, students are expected to be assigned to Pittsburgh Miller K-5 or Pittsburgh Weil K-8 this fall.
