Penn Hills teachers and the school board have agreed to submit all of the remaining contract issues to fact-finding, according to a joint news release issued Thursday.
The release stated that the decision was made after both sides exchanged proposals prior to Wednesday's negotiating session. The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board will review the request on March 16.
Under fact-finding, a neutral party reviews the positions of both sides, conducts hearings and issues nonbinding recommendations. The fact-finder's report is to be completed within 40 days of appointment. Each side then votes on the recommendations after which the recommendations are made public.
Penn Hills teachers went on strike for four days in February.
