A Stowe man died after a fire early yesterday in his home.
William Naves, 63, was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. at Allegheny General Hospital.
The Allegheny County medical examiner said an autopsy is scheduled later yesterday to determine the cause of death.
Police were first at the scene of the fire, reported at 1:05 a.m. at the Naves residence in the 600 block of Woodward Avenue in the township.
Officers were able to assist Mr. Naves and his brother, whose name was not released, as they escaped the blaze.
Mr. Naves' brother has been hospitalized, police said.
The county fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which appears to have started in the kitchen of the home.
