Q: Ray, last week after Sam Young scored 33 points, I read 3 different articles stating that no Pitt player had scored that many points in a long time. One mentioned Brian Shorter's 33 in 1990, another mentioned Ricardo Greer, and another mentioned Carl Krauser. How hard is it to get this statistic correct? And I think they are all incorrect as I watched Jason Maille score near 40 against Villanova in the mid 90's. Can you set the record straight?

Jim Settelmaier, Murrysville

FITTIPALDO: I don't know about the other articles, but I wrote that Young's 33 points were the most in a game for Pitt since Ricardo Greer scored 33 in a game in 2000. Jason Maile did score 40 in the 1990s, but since Young did not score that many points it's not relative.
