Campers and others were among those who showed up for the opening of the L.L. Bean store at Ross Park Mall.

Hundreds braved Friday's frigid weather to wait in line in hopes that thay would be among the first 500 lucky customers, who received gift cards worth between $25 and $500.

The Maine outdoors retailer is the latest new addition to the North Hills mall. Nordstrom recently opened its first location there, as did upscale chains Tiffany's, Michael Kors, Kate Spade and Burberry.
