McKeesport police officer kills self after crash
Tuesday, October 14, 2008

A McKeesport police officer fatally shot himself early Sunday after crashing his truck and leaving the scene of the accident.

Officer Tim Conboy was heading to his West Mifflin home around 12:30 a.m. when he crashed into a house in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, according to Allegheny County police Assistant Superintendent James Morton.

He then walked to his nearby home. He was alone when he shot himself, Superintendent Morton said.

He could not say if Officer Conboy had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Police were awaiting toxicology tests.
