Squirrel Hill woman winner of PG's '250 Quiz'

Thanks to the nearly 500 readers who sent in their answers to the Post-Gazette's "250 Quiz" published on Sept. 29. A few questions required that readers visit various memorials or plaques to come up with the answers, so we praise those who made that extra effort (Not everything was Googleable.)

The winner of the quiz is Jessica Sedgewick, 31, of Squirrel Hill. She did acknowledge doing a lot of Googling, but she also threw in some pretty good guesses.

As with any questionnaire involving history, some of the information is based on various observations or accounts. Because of some discrepancies, questions No. 17 and 45 were thrown out.

We hope that spending time with the quiz helped you gain a new appreciation for the many heroes and innovations that have come from Pittsburgh over the past 250 years.
