UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --- Penn State didn't let its off-the-field distractions get in the way of a resounding victory today.
Tailback Evan Royster ran for a career-high 141 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Daryll Clark passed for two scores and ran for another as the 19th-ranked Nittany Lions routed Oregon State, 45-14, at Beaver Stadium.
Despite playing without two defensive starters --- end Maurice Evans and tackle Abe Koroma --- Penn State cruised to its second consecutive win.
Evans and Koroma were suspended from the game due to their alleged involvement this past week in an incident at Nittany Apartments in which marijuana was seized.
Another occupant of that apartment, backup tight end Andrew Quarless, was one of the three players suspended by coach Joe Paterno on Thursday, but Paterno changed his mind and allowed Quarless to dress for today's game.
Oregon State, the only Pac-10 team Penn State had not previously faced, fell to 0-2.
