Outgoing WVU president rejoins former law firm
Saturday, August 30, 2008

West Virginia University President Michael Garrison, who will resign Monday following an academic scandal involving the daughter of West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, is rejoining his former law firm.

Spilman Thomas & Battle said yesterday Mr. Garrison will practice out of its Morgantown office and specialize in labor and employment law, business counseling, economic development and government relations.

An independent panel concluded that WVU falsified academic records to award a master's degree to Heather Bresch, the governor's daughter and chief operating officer of Cecil-based Mylan Inc.
