Jeannette's Pryor may see playing time as freshman
Thursday, July 24, 2008

CHICAGO -- Terrelle Pryor apparently won't have to wait long to get on the field at Ohio State.

Coach Jim Tressel said today that he won't hesitate to use the freshman quarterback from Jeannette High School, regarded as the No. 1 recruit in the country.

Pryor could spell starter Todd Boeckman on occasion in the early going.

"I think he's got great ability," Tressel said of Pryor.

Asked if he would use a two-quarterback system, similar to the one Florida used with Chris Leak and Tim Tebow a couple of years ago, Tressel said: "Certainly, but it has to be demonstrated in practice that that is the best thing for the team. But absolutely, especially in the early season, we've always tried to use mobile quarterbacks."

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
