Suspect headed to trial in shooting of teen in Homewood
Wednesday, July 23, 2008

A 19-year-old Homewood man will stand trial for homicide for a January shooting outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken on Frankstown Avenue in Homewood.

At a preliminary hearing today, the charges against Romeo Price were held for court. He was arrested this month after two witnesses fingered him in the Jan. 29 killing of 15-year-old Ernest Tolliver. Ernest was in the front passenger seat of his mother's vehicle in the drive-through lane of the KFC when he was shot in the neck.

Mr. Price's attorney, Bill Difenderfer, tried to cast doubt on the witnesses, who both had long rap sheets and could only identify Mr. Price by his eyes, as he was allegedly wearing a cap and a mask.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
