A woman was killed in a crash in which three members of her family were injured last night when their vehicle drove off an overpass in Hempfield, Westmoreland County dispatchers said.
Jeannine M. Palandro, 41, of Murrysville, had been a passenger in a vehicle that crashed at 10:13 p.m. at Toll Route 66 and Route 130. The vehicle traveled off the berm, along the embankment and over a bridge guide rail, landing on Route 130 below, the Westmoreland County coroner said.
Mrs. Palandro had not been wearing a seat belt. She was thrown from the vehicle when it became airborne, and she was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:25 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for later today, the coroner said.
Three other occupants in the vehicle, including two children, were flown to area hospitals, but the extent of their injuries was not known this morning.
State police at the New Stanton station are investigating.
