PG names Randall S. Brant Director of Advertising

PITTSBURGH, September 27, 2005 – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is pleased to announce the hire of Randall S. Brant to the position of Director of Advertising. Brant joins the Post-Gazette with seventeen years of experience in the newspaper industry, most recently as Senior VP of Advertising for the Detroit Newspaper Joint Operating Agreement.

A graduate of Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, Brant has successfully led change in many areas of newspaper advertising, including staff development, pricing restructure and the launch of new products. In his new role, he will oversee the retail, national and classified advertising departments for the Post-Gazette.

Vice President and General Manager Diana Block said, "We are pleased that Randall is joining our management team and look forward to his hands-on approach to motivating staff and increasing sales."

Brant begins work at the Post-Gazette on Monday, October 3 and plans to spend significant time getting to know the paper’s clients and staff during his first few months in the position.
